Coaching Philosophy
My coaching approach is grounded in a simple belief: leaders already possess the brilliance and capacity needed to lead effectively. What many leaders lack is the space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with the leader they have become.
Throughout my career in higher education leadership, I worked alongside talented and committed leaders who were navigating complex systems, competing expectations, and increasing demands. Many of these leaders were highly capable, yet they rarely had structured opportunities to reflect on how they were thinking, leading, and making decisions.
Over time, I recognized that leadership growth often begins not with learning something entirely new, but with seeing ourselves differently.
This realization shaped my coaching philosophy and led to the development of the Mindset Reset Method, a practical tool that helps leaders interrupt unhelpful thinking patterns and move toward intentional action.
Within coaching engagements, leaders apply this mindset work through intentional conversations, where they examine inherited leadership norms, reclaim their time and focus, and activate their leadership voice.
Through this process, many leaders experience what I call a Leadership Reset—a moment when they reconnect with their brilliance and begin leading with greater clarity, confidence, and courage.

With nearly two decades of experience in higher education leadership, Dr. Scott has worked extensively in areas including student success, leadership development, organizational accountability, and institutional change. Her professional work has focused on helping individuals and organizations navigate complex systems while fostering environments where leaders and communities can thrive.
Dr. Scott’s research and scholarship have explored the experiences of women navigating leadership barriers within higher education, deepening her understanding of the challenges many leaders encounter as they advance in their careers.
Drawing on this experience, Dr. Scott integrates leadership development, reflective coaching practices, and principles from positive psychology to support leaders as they strengthen their leadership voice and approach their work with greater clarity and intention.
