The Secondary & Vicarious Trauma Training Series was designed to support leaders—particularly those in Title IX and support roles—who are navigating the emotional weight of trauma-informed work.
Hosted by Edquity-Minded Consulting and sponsored by Ohio Department of Higher Education, this series created space for leaders to better understand trauma, recognize its impact on their work, and develop strategies to sustain themselves while supporting others.
This page preserves key information, session topics, and the purpose behind the experience.
Please note: Full session recordings, live discussions, engagement tools, and participant materials are not publicly available. This archive reflects the structure and impact of the series, not the full training access.

A Note from Dr. Tamekia Scott
This work was created for leaders who are often navigating the weight of other people’s experiences—while still being expected to lead, decide, and show up fully.
Secondary and vicarious trauma are real.
And so is the expectation to keep going.
This series was designed to name that reality, create space for it, and offer a different way to lead within it.
Bring This Work to Your Organization
This training series is one example of how Edquity-Minded Consulting partners with organizations to support leaders navigating complex, high-responsibility work.
For teams in Title IX, high-stakes, and other trauma-informed roles, leadership is not just about performance—it’s about sustainability, decision-making under pressure, and navigating the emotional weight of the work.
Through our organizational partnerships, we support leaders in:
- strengthening decision-making and clarity in high-stakes environments
- addressing burnout, overextension, and emotional fatigue
- building confidence while holding accountability and care
- integrating trauma-informed and equity-centered leadership practices
Our leadership development approach goes beyond one-time training.
We work with organizations to create experiences that support both how leaders think and how they lead.
Engagements may include:
- multi-session leadership development series
- customized training experiences for teams
- leadership assessments and debriefs
- facilitated discussions and applied case-based learning
This work is designed to align leadership development with the real conditions your teams are navigating—so they can lead effectively without carrying it alone.
Because leadership development should not just prepare people to do the work—it should support them in sustaining themselves while doing it.
If your organization is looking to invest in leadership development that reflects the realities of your teams’ work:
